Days until we Walk for Life on January 25, 2025

Colleen Samson, a dedicated pro-lifer, 40 Days for Lifer, and a Board member of the St. Gianna Maternity home from the. Diocese of Fargo, ND, and a friend, will be joining us at the Walk! The diocese of Fargo is shepherded by good Bishop John T. Folda.

St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo

Colleen told us:  This is my first time in San Francisco, although I have been to the March for Life in Washington DC a number of times. I am coming with a young lady—it’s a duet!  The timeframe did not work for us to get to Washington DC, but the Lord has opened a door, so we are coming to San Francisco!

“It is vitally important that the world sees us stand up for the truth, and that we let the world know how sacred life is from the moment of conception until natural death.

It is so important that all of us take time out of our lives to join with other believers in standing up for life always, but especially in January the month of the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

How pleased Our Lord must be to see believers of all different denominations, and even no denominations stand up boldly and courageously for his little ones!”

We also found out a little about the St. Gianna Maternity Home, where Colleen serves as President of the Board of Directors. The Mission Statement:

We believe that every unborn child has a right to life and that every pregnant woman has the right to give birth with dignity.

We are dedicated
to providing safe shelter, food, clothing, education, and counseling; and to addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of women in crisis pregnancies as an alternative to abortion.

We are committed
to providing families with a stable living situation based on spiritual values –
one mother, one baby, one family at a time.

Colleen told us  “…our St. Gianna Maternity Home Director is Mary Pat Jahner.  She is a saint!  She was awarded the 2012 Caritas Award in the Diocese of Fargo and was runner up for the 2012 Lumen Christi Award.  How we love her and appreciate all that she does for everyone including those that are in great need.”

Hey!  St. Gianna Molla is one of our patronesses here at the Walk, and our annual award for pro-life heroism is of course named for her! The maternity home is helping to raise funds for the restoration of St. Gianna’s home back in Italy. They are having a fundraising dinner (Invitation written by Cardinal Burke, no less!) on April 18.
