One of the many great things about the Walk for Life West Coast is how, by bringing so many of us together, it has generated new prayer and pro-life opportunities.
Not only do we have the Walk for Life Mass at the Cathedral on January 26, (which last year was celebrated by EIGHT Catholic bishops) but there is also the Standing Up 4Life Walk in Oakland, led by the great Walter Hoye, beginning at 10AM on the Friday before the Walk, January 25. Also on the 25th there is all-night Eucharistic Adoration at Saints Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco.
This year, we have a new devotional opportunity. Every year the Sisters of Life travel all the way from New York to attend the Walk, and this year the Sisters invite you to join them at the Vigil for Life at San Francisco’s Star of the Sea Church, 4420 Geary Blvd. (at 8th Avenue) in San Francisco.
The Vigil begins with Vespers at 6:30 PM, followed by the presentation “Love stands at the door and knocks…an invitation to life” by Sr. Bethany Madonna, S.V. Then at 8PM, Mass will be celebrated by the great young Bishop Thomas Daly, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose, which will be followed by Eucharistic Adoration.
Join the Sisters of Life for an evening of prayer for life!
