Days until we Walk for Life on January 23, 2027

 

We all know that ours is first and foremost a spiritual battle. Our opponents are not people, but the fear, loneliness, and hopelessness that leads women to choose abortion. So, before we go to the Walk, let us allow this power of prayer help us, and let us ask that it helps others! Here are some prayerful opportunities you can participate in before the Walk:

Friday, January 23:

St. Dominic’s Church, 2390 Bush St. San Francisco 5:00 PM
Prayer Vigil for Life

The Dominican Friars of St. Dominic’s Church will host their annual Prayer Vigil for Life. Vespers at 5:00PM, Mass at 5:30PM and Holy Hour with Confessions 6:30PM to 7:30PM. Flyer here.

Saints Peter and Paul Church 660 Filbert St., San Francisco 8:00PM to midnight.
Eucharistic Adoration for Life

The Salesian Fathers of Saints Peter and Paul Church host Adoration for Life from 8:00 PM until midnight. The parking lot will be open.

Saturday, January 24:

St Lucy’s Church, 2350 Winchester Blvd., Campbell, CA 8:00 AM
Bishop Oscar Cantu will celebrate the 8:00 am Diocesan Mass before pilgrims depart for the 22nd Annual Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco .

Prayer Vigil at Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood 1522 Bush St., San Francisco 8:00-9:00 AM

The Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust will lead a Prayer Vigil at Planned Parenthood. All are welcome in prayer before the Walk. 2 blocks from St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Orthodox Divine Liturgy for Life
Holy Trinity Cathedral, 520 Green St., San Francisco, 8:30AM

The Orthodox Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Cathedral, followed by a fellowship meal before the Walk

Walk for Life West Coast Mass
St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1111 Gough St., San Francisco 9:30 AM.

Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, joined by Bishop Michael Barber of Oakland, Bishop Myron Cotta of Stockton, Bishop Jaime Soto of Sacramento, Bishop Robert Vasa of Santa Rosa, Auxiliary Bishop Andy C. Ligot of San Jose, and Auxiliary Bishop Rey Bersabal of Sacramento, joined by many priests will celebrate the Annual Walk for Life Mass. This is the largest annual Mass in the Diocese of San Francisco!

Pre-Walk Fellowship and Prayer

Pre-Walk Fellowship and Prayer
Lutherans for Life will gather at 11:00 AM at West Portal Lutheran Church for fellowship and refreshments. Participants will then travel together to the Walk. More here.

Orthodox Service of Supplication
Corner of Grove and Polk, San Francisco 12 noon.

Orthodox Clergy will lead a Service of Supplication at the corner of Grove and Polk, San Francisco, noon. All are invited to join as we pray for those whose lives were cut short by abortion and for a spirit of repentance for those who perform them.

Mass in the Extraordinary Form
Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi, 610 Vallejo St., San Francisco, 5:00PM 

Fr. Robert Marczewski, Chaplain of Thomas Aquinas College, will celebrate Mass in the Extraordinary Form at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi. All are welcome!

All-Night Adoration for Life
Star of the Sea Parish, 4420 Geary St., San Francisco

Star of the Sea will host all-night adoration in thanksgiving for the Walk. Free parking available. All are welcome.

For Catholics: Those who participate in the West Coast Walk for Life in common can obtain a plenary indulgence. *In addition to having no attachment to sin, gaining a plenary indulgence requires participants to fulfill three conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, and vocal prayer for the intention of the Pope.
