Days until we Walk for Life on January 25, 2025

“Being there to support something we all passionately believe in”

The depth of pro-life commitment constantly surprises and heartens us. As we’ve written before, one of the great things about the Walk for Life West Coast is its attraction as a magnet to pro-lifers all over the West Coast and western United States.

One group of pilgrims that has been participating at the Walk for a number of years is Wyoming Catholic College, located in Lander, Wyoming. We spoke with Rob Meeker, the Assistant Director of Outdoor Activities at Wyoming Catholic. He told us WCC will have 104 people coming this year, the most ever. It will be 98 college students, Mr. Meeker (and his 4 year-old daughter), WCC Chaplain Fr. Bob Frederick, and some other adults.

“We are driving to Salt Lake City, where we will board commercial buses to get to the Bay Area. We will be staying at Marin Catholic High School. Last year we could not make it to San Francisco, so 80 students attended the Denver Walk for Life. But this year we are back in San Francisco. It’s my first time at the Walk For Life West Coast, and will be so for the majority of the students. I’m looking forward to it. I don’t totally know what to expect. I’d imagine the Presidential nomination the day before will create more energy around our feelings. We’ll probably see more counter-protestors, which may generate more press coverage.  But we are all being there to support something we all passionately believe in.”

Wyoming Catholic is an amazing school with a holistic curriculum that engages the mind, body, and soul: the Great Books, daily Mass, and the College’s beautiful natural setting.

From their website: “The College is unmistakably Catholic, planted in the deep center of Catholic tradition. The truth sets us free, our Lord says—not only truth discovered by human reason alone, but also and above all revealed Truth, which tells us who we are and who our God is.  All spiritual exercises at the College are designed to foster a genuine Catholic environment so that students may graduate with a deeper understanding of their faith and an ability to undertake a life of prayer and devotion. Holy Mass is offered daily….In addition to a rigorous Great Books curriculum to form the mind, and an authentically Catholic spiritual environment to enrich the soul, Wyoming Catholic College has also committed to forming the body through a unique educational experience called the Outdoor Leadership Program. Each student’s college career at WCC starts with the 3 week Freshmen backpacking expedition. This course is entirely led by WCC college students and alumni who have extensive backcountry experience and have completed the college’s 3 week professional instructor course.”
