Pro-Life Billboard wins students trip to the Walk!
More great pro-life pilgrims! We’ve got 23 people coming to the Walk for Life West Coast all the way from the Diocese of Colorado Springs! We had a chance to speak with Mary Theresa Thomas from the diocese.
Hi, Mary Theresa! We are delighted to welcome you to San Francisco and the Walk for Life West Coast. Tell us a little about your group.
We have a group comprised of high school age students and adult chaperones – including Fr. Greg Bierbaum, the ProLife Apostolate Director for the Diocese of Colorado Springs and Fr. Joe Dygert the religious education teacher at St. Mary High School, and Sr. Bernadette Mota from Total Catholic Education.
What’s the breakdown of attendees?
We have 23 people total from the diocese. Among the 13 high school aged participants we have three students who are on the trip because they submitted the winning billboard design for the 2016 Respect Life Dinner Youth Project Contest.
How great is that? Are the Walkers, from schools or parishes or both?
Participants come from all parts of the diocese.
Anything else you’d like to share?
The Diocese of Colorado Springs helps subsidize the trip through fundraising at the Annual Bishop’s Respect Life Dinner hosted by the Most Reverend Michael J. Sheridan, Bishop of the Diocese of Colorado Springs– this annual dinner brings in speakers from all aspects of the Respect Life movement, notably Archbishop Naumann, Janet Morana and this year Dr. Alveda King, to encourage and educate attendees.
Mary Theresa, we thank you so much and look forward to seeing you! Are YOU coming? Tell us your story!
