This nice message was in the parish bulletin of St. Gall Church, in Garnerville, NV, Diocese of Reno (at last six Churches in Reno are sending buses!):
IF YOU’VE NEVER ATTENDED THE WALK FOR LIFE, CONSIDER DOING SO…IT’S A GREAT EXPERIENCE!
The walk is on January 25th.
“When I was a seminarian in 2005, I attended the first annual Walk for Life West Coast rally. Wow, what an intense experience that was. There were about 7000 of us, but there were also about 1000 counter-rally people. The counter-rally people were extremely loud and obnoxious, screaming vulgarities and even spitting on us. Crazy. I have attended many rallies since then and now they are very peaceful and calm, perhaps because we now number around 50,000. I think the young people inspire me the most, especially the young families pushing their strollers. There is so much joy in the group, it is quite contagious. I highly recommend people attend this uplifting event.” – Fr Mark Hanifan.
They also had this message:
“Tracy and I and the family have attended the Walk for Life for many years. For me, it is like a mini pilgrimage. For our family, it is a booster shot for our pro-life Catholic values. One gets to walk with people of all ages, but surprisingly with many young college-aged students representing many of the major colleges and universities on the west coast. Each year, we put it on our calendar. We very much look forward to the Walk!” – Dr. Keith Shonnard
