Speaking of wonderful young people, here is the youth group from St. Margaret Mary Church in Oakland. This group of middle school and high school students, led by Mike Sullivan (second from right in the second row, next to seminarian Alvin Yu) will be staying overnight at San Francisco’s Saints Peter and Paul the night before the Walk. There will be a special pro-life youth Mass at 7:00 PM, to which everyone is invited, celebrated by the well known, beloved, and funny 89 year-old Salesian, Fr. Mario Rosso, (front row right). Mass will be followed at Saints Peter and Paul by all-night Adoration for Life. The picture below was taken at a retreat conducted for the young people by Fr. Mario last year.
St. Margaret Mary is a treasure to the Diocese of Oakland. It’s home to the Institute of Christ the King, so there are beautiful Extraordinary Form Masses, and there are many, many active parish organizations. (Walk co-chair and founder Dolores Meehan addressed the youth group last year). The extremely hard-working pastor of St. Margaret Mary, Fr. Stanislaw Zak, is in the center of the back row.
God bless them!
