Our Walk for Life West Coast banners with our message “Abortion Hurts Women!” are back up on Market Street!
Nice! Here’s a closer view:
Last year, our Board of Supervisors issued Resolution #140040, opposing our right to place the banners along the Market Street route of the Walk. They, in their capacity as elected officials, urged a review of the city’s permitting process for public banners because they did not agree with our message. As we wrote at the time:
“The Supervisors’ resolution will not affect the Walk for Life West Coast banners in any way. It’s a political charade, as the (San Francisco) Chronicle intimated. It’s not news to us, any more than it is to most San Franciscans, that the Supervisors find time to waste the taxpayers’ money on an unreal issue.”
But their foolish action got us nationwide publicity and them ridiculed in the editorial pages of both the liberal San Francisco Chronicle and KGO TV News.
